Giving

Why Giving Matters

“Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver” 2 Corinthians 9:7

At First Presbyterian, there are numerous opportunities to support the church’s ministries, including financial contributions to our efforts. Supporting your church financially is not just about fulfilling an obligation; it’s an essential part of being part of a faith community. Here are some reasons why giving matters:

  1. Stewardship: Giving reflects our role as stewards of God’s resources. By contributing financially, we acknowledge that everything we have ultimately belongs to God, and we are entrusted with managing it wisely.

  2. Worship: Giving is an act of worship. When we give, we express gratitude for God’s blessings and acknowledge His provision. It’s a way to honor Him and participate in the work of the church.

  3. Community Impact: Your financial support directly impacts the ministry and outreach of our church. It enables programs, missions, and services that benefit both members and the broader community.

  4. Spiritual Growth: Regular giving cultivates a generous heart. It reminds us to prioritize God’s kingdom over our own desires and helps us grow in faith and obedience.

  5. Unity: Giving unites believers. When everyone contributes, it fosters a sense of shared responsibility and commitment to the church’s mission.

Giving is not just about money; it’s about investing in eternal purposes and being part of something greater than ourselves. Whether you give online, during services, or through other means, your contribution matters and makes a difference in the lives of others
